For more than 37 years Meryl has worked as a freelance illustrator, specializing in artwork for children’s publications. She has illustrated more than 60 books and done thousands of illustrations for magazines and educational books. She uses her maiden name, Henderson, for this work.
When time permits Meryl pursues a passion for painting wildlife and landscapes in oil. She also etches scenes from nature, printing them on her 1850’s English etching press.
“ I have known since childhood that art was my calling. My interest is, and always has been in traditional art forms. Wildlife and landscape images are my focus. The world we live in and all its creatures are beautiful. I draw, paint, and etch because I love to. I hope that the images I create bring pleasure to those who see them.”
